Kogi Police Rescued Globacom Staff from Kidnappers PDF Print E-mail

The Kogi state Police command had rescued a telecommunication giant staff, Globacom from the hands of kidnappers. He was kidnapped in Okene while on official duty.Precisely 12th of November, 2009, an informant called the Kogi state Police Command that one Engineer Amusa Babatunde, has been kidnapped by some people at Okene.Immediately, the Police swung into action and rescued the victim and also arrested one of the suspects, Manshood Bala but his accomplice was said to have escaped.Engineer Amusa Babtunde had since been united with his family. The victim further revealed in his statement that the suspects demanded the sum of five million naira (N5,000,000.00) as ransom but the suspect denied the allegation.Manshood Bala, who is presently at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) would be charged to court after further investigation.The acting Commissioner of Police, Mogaji Abdullahi has assured everybody within the state and those that will be travelling through that the command is fully ready for the yuletide season and people should go about their legitimate business.He however advised that people should not hesitate to report to the Police when they suspect foul play by criminals.
