THE PEOPLE POLICE MARATHON: RACE AGAINST CRIME
The Nigeria Police will be organising a Marathon race in Abuja, tagged: RACE AGAINST CRIME. Participants from all segments of the society will join runners from various formations of the Nigeria Police to make the marathon exciting. The event will also feature a celebrity race of 1km tagged “IG’s race”, where top VIPs, including captains of industry, state governors and commissioners of police will compete together in an exhibition charity race; proceeds of which will be donated to the charity of the winner’s choice.
The marathon is the innovative concept of a consortium of marketing communication firms, MarketingMix and Sublime Communications Limited, both of which have a pedigree in organising marathons and similar sporting events. For four successive years, MarketingMix successfully managed MTN Lagos International Marathon. Meanwhile, plans are nearing conclusion to partner with international marathon organisers in Europe. Several corporate sponsors are already showing interest in The People Police Marathon, which will provide a veritable platform for them to key into a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
