MODERN POLICE HOSPITAL RENAMED AFTER ALHAJI IBRAHIM COOMASIE

A modern Police Hospital built by the Police at Katsina town, Katsina State, the home-state of the erstwhile Inspector-General of Police, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Coomasie NPM, GCON,, has been named after the said indomitable IGP, Ahlaji Coomasie. The hospital which was located at the heart of the town was commissioned by the Ag. Inspector-General of Police sir Mike Mbama Okiro NPM, MNI.

In the commissioning and christening ceremony, the ag. Inspector – General of Police said that the decision to name the hospital after Alhaji Ibrahim Coomasie is borne out of his desire and that of the Management Team of the Force to recognize and immortalize the good works and services of the former Inspector-General of Police. Sir Mike Okiro said that the acknowledged, reputable and enviable track record of outstanding contributions to the cause of development and human progress in the nation which Alhajil Coomasie left behind influenced him to name the hospital after him, as there is no better way of commending his works.

The IGP further said that the welfare of the officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force is one of his cardinal focuses and thus he is committed to the course of achieving optimum health-care delivery in all length and breath of the Nigeria Police Force. He emphasized that his Administration has designed maximum result-oriented health-care services for the force.
