POLICE UNCOVER ILLEGAL DEPOT USE FOR RE-BRANDING EXPIRED RICE IN ABUJA.

 

On 1/12/2007, acting on intelligence, a team of detectives from FCT Police Command stormed John Holt warehouse situated at plot 259, Central Area Abuja where 9 workers of Olam Nigeria Limited, a Company owned by Indians were intercepted recasting expired “champion Rice” into new bags of “Super Rice” with new expiry date of September, 2009 boldly printed on the bags.
A total of 1,700 bags of expired rice valued N8,840,000 and about 1000 empty bags to complete their task, were recovered from the following suspects.
i. Adewoye Hamid Suleiman ‘M’
ii. Ogunleye Sunday ‘M’
iii. Alhassan Mohammed ‘M’
iv. Longinus Ugwu ‘M’
v. Abdullahi Habibu ‘M’
vi. Sunday Agbo ‘M’
vii. Emmanuel Agbo ‘M’
viii. Ugwu Jones ‘M’
ix. Eric Ogbodo ‘M’
