Samuel Okon Peters Visits Force Headquarters, Abuja

The WBC World heavy Weight Champion, DSP Samuel Okon Peters was at Luis Edet House,  on a visit to the Inspector General of Police.

 He was also accompanied by his Manager, Ivalyo Gotzev, his trainer, Pops Anderson and the enigmatic African – American boxing promoter, Don King.

The Akwa Ibom State Governor Mr. Goodswill Akpabio. who also accompanied the champion commended the Nigeria Police Force for giving Police officers the opportunities to showcase their talents and skills, which has produced the likes of Sunday Bada, Chioma Anjuwa and Samuel Okon Peters.

The Inspector General of Police commended Samuel Peters for doing the country proud, and promised the continuous support of the Nigeria Police in his next title fight against the runway champion Oleg Maskaev  of Kazakhstan. Samuel Okon Peters was thereafter promoted to the Rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police.

President Umaru Yar’Adua also honoured the interim World Boxing Council Champion, Samuel Peter with an award of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON). The President bestowed the award on Peter at a reception in the Council Chambers of the State House, during which the boxer presented the ‘world belt.’
